Dorothea Lange (May 26, 1895 – October 11, 1965) was an American photographer who took photos of people during the great depression. Her contribution to society was influencing the creation of Documentary Photography. Each of her pictures represents the story of a family who suffers in the great depression.
Lewis Hine
Lewis Hine (September 26, 1874 – November 3, 1940) was an American sociologist and photographer, who used photography to help change child labour laws in the USA. He joined the National Child Labour Committee (NCLC) and took over 200 photos of children in poor working environments, and later realized he could use powerful photos to make a change and to reform society.
Matthew Brady
Mathew Brady (1822-1896) was one of the first american photographers, who is best known for capturing photos of the American Civil War. Brady started by using Daguerreotype pictures, then soon used a mobile studio and a dark room to take many great pictures of the civil war, including the battlefields as well as the generals of the war on both sides of the battle.
Eadward Muybridge
Eadweard Muybridge (9 april 1830 - 8 may 1904) was an English Photographer who pioneered the start of motion film by taking pictures of animals and people in motion and consecutively playing to imitate motion.
